Scottish CILT CPD Events - Scottish CILT Wiki

We are committed to providing high quality teacher focused CPD for languages teachers in as many different areas in Scotland as possible. We do this through our

outreach programme,
national events
and virtual events using Glowmeet.

We are registered national CPD providers and all our CPD opportunities are listed in CPDfind, the national directory of all CPD opportunities for educators in Scotland.

We can offer you many other ways for you to enhance your own CPD; our website is a rich source of relevant and valuable information: there is useful research on languages teaching and learning from across the world. The Scottish Languages Review provides relevant teacher-orientated and teacher -written articles on all aspects of languages teaching and learning. This wiki itself has a host of ideas to help you develop your professional practice, or why not subscribe to our news feed to keep up to date with all the latest langauges news? You could always follow us on Twitter for instant updates as well

So far this year ( 2009-10) we have held two national events at our "home" Strathclyde University. The first one was on the Common European Framework on August 27th; and the second was for primary teachers of languages, on September 15th.

We dipped our toes into Glow last year, and held a virtual conference on interdisciplinary learning on June 15th 2009. Two of our keynote talks and one workshop were live streamed through Glowmeet, with the invaluable help of Stuart Oliphant from Learning and Teaching Scotland.

Challenging times for everyone have brought about a change in our approach to CPD: we would like to offer more variety in terms of format, content and timing of our events this year. So we have developed a menu of workshops, which has been distributed to local authorities, to let you choose what you would like to hear and do in CPD outreach events. A list of confirmed events is available at the bottom of this page, as is the menu of workshop options, if you would like to organise something in your area.
Please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you !
